Dear guests!
I am Tobias Ganthaler, a certified hiking guide from Bolzano. Even as a little boy I went there with my parents surrounding mountains. My enthusiasm and passion for the unique nature and the mountains stays with me to this day.
The tours became longer and the peaks became higher. In winter I discovered my passion for ski touring. My enthusiasm for cars led me to work as a car salesman for a long time after training as a car mechanic.
In 2024 the time had finally come – I was able to turn my passion and hobby into a career. I successfully completed the exam to become a hiking leader.
I would like to show you my beautiful home, guide you safely and let you forget everyday life.
Have you been dreaming of going on a tour with expert guidance for a long time? to do or to climb a peak?
I accompany you on your adventure.
Tobias

Let me say this, Tobias was the kindest, friendliest, and most welcoming person I had the pleasure of meeting during my trip. He took me on a 6-hour hike across waterfalls, through wooded areas, and across a small town. We even stopped for lunch at a local B&B (Messnerhof Breggasthof) that served outstanding brats with kraut & dumplings, lasagna, strudel, and of course homemade grappa (from tree sap). By the end of the hike it was like we had been lifelong friends. Tobias took the time to educate me on the region, nature, and the people who live there. After the hike, I spent time in the rooftop sauna before sitting on the terrace to watch the sunset. On my third day at Goldenstern, I was craving a wine tasting somewhere in town. They sent me to Gandolfi zum Pfau, which was incredibly cozy and run by Mirko Gandolfi, who although speaks minimal English, created a one-of-a-kind tasting experience. He served all local wines to the region made by small batch producers. All in all, the Golderstern allowed me to feel at ease as a solo traveler. I will certainly come back here again.
